There’s a bit more of it on the site here (technical issues mastered, for now), and in the Jazziverse, where the top album in the 60th annual downbeat magazine critics poll has Vijay Iyer as artist of the year and owner of the top album, his excellent Accelerando. Voting was ranked and that was one of my picks, regardless it’s totally deserving. If you agree with the view that Iyer is an avant-gardist (I do not), this might be shocking. To me, it confirms the strength of jazz music of the times and in the moment.
