One of the casualties of music shutting down was the New York Philharmonic’s Mahler in New York mini-festival, which was to be a prelude to their performances at the Concertgebouw for the Mahler Festival there—also cancelled.
Instead, the Phil is presenting Mahler’s New York: A Digital Festival, running from tonight through April 30. This will be a series of video broadcasts, archived but streaming on a real-time basis. Tonight, 7:30, is Symphony No. 1, back from the Loren Maazel era, which if I recall well was a fine performance.
